    Abstract

The HVEPS project concerns the installation and usage of an electronic healthcare record system within one hospital department based on an analysis and a strategy for the whole hospital. The objective was to 1) identify organisational and technical barriers, 2) to test problem oriented care supported by the electronic patient record and to test the unified healthcare record. From the experience of the HVEPS project it seems that succes of installing such systems is highly dependant on collaborative competences representing the 1) IT area, 2) health information modelling area, 3) specialised healthcare professionals areas, 4) general healthcare organisational area and 5) hospital administrative area within the individual hospital organisation.
