CARE, ETHICS, AND PERSONCENTERED PRACTICE

Specializing in experiential research within the pediatric field, my research aims to enhance care by concentrating on healthcare interventions that promote well-being, with a particular a person-centered perspective. I possess expertise in investigating care-promoting support to reduce vulnerability during hospitalization. Proficient in various qualitative methods, I also have experience conducting complex interventions in clinical settings, as well as mixed methods within healthcare science.

An integral aspect of my work involves providing guidance in clinical research methodologies, alongside extensive teaching and supervision responsibilities for clinical staff embarking on research projects, particularly those with a focus on caring and existential themes. In addition to my own research pursuits, I mentor master's degree students, scientific assistants, Ph.D. candidates, and Post-docs in qualitative research processes.

As a researcher, I have initiated interdisciplinary research teams (nurses, physiotherapists, medicine, and midwifery), as well as governmental, national and European funding proposals. My research network relies on former and new international research collaborations and has resulted in peer-reviewed publications of high international standard in recognized publishing channels within the nursing area.

I have extensive international experience collaborating with experts in my field, such as Michael Van Manen (Phenomenologist & Neonatologist) and Patricia Benner (Nursing Theorist). Based on these collaborations, I prioritize continuous professional development and stay updated in nurse-led research and nursing theory.

Currently function as Chair of the Research Unit, #WeDoCare, Children and Adolescent Department, Zealand University Hospital, Region Zealand & Institute of Regional Health, SDU and within this position I collaborate closely with Adjunct Professor Michael van Manen, focusing on ethics and the integration of relational technology within pediatric care.
